How do you learn Twitter & Social Media?
I have been getting many inquiries lately and thought maybe it would help to tell people how I learned to use Twitter and Facebook and more…
How did I start? Well, I read… a lot! If you check the Resource Page on this site, you’ll find several great places to kickstart you. There will be more added as well, so feel free to re-visit this page to see the updates.
I also took many online seminars – some through VAnetworking and some from Hubspot – all had specialists or experts helping people learn the methods/tactics. These can change and vary, so I suggest setting up a google alert or simply doing some internet searches.
Finally, I took a course at VAclassroom, their Social Media Marketing program is fantastic. It teaches you all sorts of methods/skills:
- Social Media Strategy and Action Planning
- Social Networking Profile Set-up and Management
- Facebook Marketing
- Twitter Marketing
- Online Video Marketing
- Online Reputation Management
- Social Media Content Distribution
It is a course geared at teaching virtual workers the skills in order to offer them to their clients. But if you are ready and have the time to do your own social media, it will be a big help as well. It is a self study program with both printed material and videos, which you can review over and over if needed. You do have to take a test with each module and pass in order to receive your final certification. There is also an online community where you can discuss and share amongst other students/alumni.
Did this course help me? You bet, I learned more in depth skills than I had and it gave me some credibility for my skill and business. Soon after finishing the course I signed with some new clients and started receiving more referrals as well.
Right now VAclassroom is offering a discount on their program and I also have coupon code here to save you another $100.
If you are interested in learning more – either for yourself or to add to your services; check out the course and the coupon code you need is SUMMER09.
